Project | Travel Album: Hello Messe Frankfurt
A few weeks ago when I was at Scrapbook Expo in Schaumburg, IL, I had the opportunity to visit the Becky Higgins Project Life booth at the show. The booth was selling several kits that hadn't really even been announced yet, let alone hit stores. I was thrilled to discover one of them was a new kit called Everyday by Liz Tamanaha (aka Paislee Press), who designed the Midnight core kit that I love!

I was about to start scrapbooking the Creativeworld trade show portion of my Frankfurt album, and the expanses of white and bold black text with pops of color would be the perfect match for the aesthetic of Messe Frankfurt. I couldn't snatch it up fast enough!
These first two pages about the trade show are aimed at showcasing the glass and white walled beauty of Messe Frankfurt and explaining how huge it is.
The title card was created from two 4x6 cards from the kit. The base of the card was one card. Then, to keep things coordinated, I took a second card that was mostly red and ran it through the photo paper tray in my printer to print "Messe Frankfurt" on it. Trimmed down and attached with brads, it created the label layer for the card.
I used a stamp from Technique Tuesday's "Going Places" set to fill in the red circle (above) on the journaling card. I was writing about the signs in the building so I used a sign post stamp! Then (below) a phrase stamp from the same set added some black text to a previously red and white card.
I wanted to highlight the days that I was at Messe Frankfurt on this days of the week card from the kit. Faber-Castell's Gelato in Butterscotch matched the golden yellow from this kit perfectly, and served as an impromptu highlighter. I used the edge of the Gelato to draw a line across the word, and then smeared it into a watercolor effect with a water brush.
This core kit seems just made to be used with the Going Places stamp set from Technique Tuesday. This red patterned card with the blank opening in the middle was just begging to have this text stamp put in it! The fonts are even somewhat similar to the Everyday kit!
Awhile back I bought a We R Memory Keepers Pocket Fuse tool. I wanted to find a way to preserve my show ticket on this layout but was short pockets. This was the perfect chance to try it out. I fused a 3x4 pocket to the inside binding of the page so that it became a flap that covered part of the journaling card. Now both sides of the pass are visible!
The new Everyday core kit coordinates beautifully with most of Liz's previous Midnight kit (although the yellows don't match exactly). The kit is so versatile, and will help me get extended use out of the remaining part of my Midnight kit.
