2020 Christmas Scrapbook Paper Collection Round-Up
Even though it is still sweltering hot here in Florida, it’s time to think Christmas already for scrapbookers and cardmakers! The Scrapbook Update Christmas Paper Collection Round-Up is now the Nally Studios Christmas Paper Collection Round-Up, but I promise it’s still bringing you the same great comprehensive look at this year’s scrapbook paper collections as it always has!

What are the Christmas 2020 scrapbook paper trends?
The design and production for Christmas 2020 scrapbook paper is of course happening under the shadow of the effect the novel coronavirus has had on the world and on the industry. Undoubtedly, it affected the number of collections released this year, which so far is on trend to be well below the 63 items I published last year. There will likely still be some new lines announced and I will update this article when they are!
But design appears affected as well. The first thing that struck me as I reviewed the Christmas paper collections as a whole is how safe they are. This is not the year for risk-taking in design. Most everyone has stuck to very classical Christmas looks; the few who haven’t, such as Prima and Stamperia, have strayed because the look they’ve produced adheres to their company’s very distinct signature style.
Color trends this year are also largely classic - and largely subdued. Traditional red and green dominate, but the shades are on average deeper and more saturated than in previous years. The pink and blue that have been crashing the Christmas party in previous years are now seen in only smaller accent doses except at companies where the colors are part of their signature style, or in snow themed lines.
Black makes an appearance in quite a few Christmas paper collections this year as an accent color. It’s a color trend that was begun to be seen in previous years’ Christmas collections, fed by both the plaid trend and the popularity of Rifle Paper’s signature look. But this year it’s very at home with the darker reds and greens as a companion.
