Snapshots from Creativeworld, Part 2

The dust (or should I say snow?) has settled from the winter trade show season, and final numbers are in from the Creativeworld 2015 show in Frankfurt.

[Disclosure: Messe Frankfurt and the the Creativeworld show are sponsors of this content.]

During the show from January 31st through February 3rd, 290 Creativeworld exhibitors (an increase of one from 2014) from 30 countries served 8,353 visitors (an increase of 2% from 2014) from 80 countries. Messe Frankfurt hosted a total of 84,000 visitors to the three shows under its roof (Creativeworld, Paperworld, and Christmasworld) during Creativeworld for 2015.

Discussing his company’s participation at Creativeworld, Stephan Rayher, CEO of Rayher Hobby GmbH, said, “We come to Creativeworld because it is the best opportunity to reach the creative market in its entirety, to measure our company against our competitors and to meet our key accounts. When it comes to hobbies, Creativeworld is, in my opinion, the biggest show – not just in Europe but worldwide.”

So what did all of those visitors come to see? Well if you are a Florida girl like me, the snow that fell overnight in Frankfurt one night during the show was pretty exciting!

But inside the warm walls of Messe Frankfurt, there was plenty more to see. On Sunday morning of the show, I took part in a panel on the future of the industry with Craft & Hobby Association CEO Andrej Suskavcevic.

Creativeworld shares the multi-level Hall 4 with Paperworld, an office and school supply show. On level 4.2 (level 2 of hall 4), Creativeworld and Paperworld each occupy half the floor. This aisle is the dividing line between the two shows. Attendees are free to mix between shows at Messe Frankfurt, and many attendees in January do visit all three shows (Christmasworld, Paperworld, and Creativeworld) that are active on the fairground at the same time.

The huge Paperworld show also occupies space in several other halls as well, and is sub-divided by product type. This particular area was devoted to calendar products.

The Craft & Hobby Association once again hosted its U.S. pavilion that allowed many of its members to try exhibiting at the show with a basic modular booth set-up, special assistance, and familiar neighbors.

The Crafter's Workshop occupied a large corner booth of the U.S. pavilion. It was large enough to display a selected segment of their CHA release from earlier in the month and provide a conference table for writing orders. Teresa Collins Designs occupied a similar booth on another corner of the pavilion.

BoBunny was back for another Frankfurt show, with a large booth displaying their recent releases (and a lot of charming decor).

Prima Marketing's distributor in Europe had Anna Dabrowska (aka Finnabair) busy demonstrating.

Vaessen Creative is one of Ranger's European distributors. Their booth nearly overran an entire section of floor when Tim Holtz did a demonstration!

U.K. company IndigoBlu was promoting their unique "FlitterGlu" product that lets stampers apply metallic flake to an image for a beautiful gilt effect.

Craft Buddy, also a British company, was showing their card kits and "bling" sets that are inspired by jewelry designs (like this one below, which is in the style of a broach).

Gelli Arts exhibited in the U.S. pavilion and made a big splash with their Gel Printing Plate, which won 2nd Place in the show's Creative Tool of the Year award.

And finally, I leave you with the most quintessentially German thing that I found within the walls of Messe Frankfurt...it may not be crafty but it sure was delicious!
