The Cricut Maker changed the things that I make, and the materials that I make them with. I never would have tried to make an envelope or 3D item before the Scoring Wheels - I don’t have the patience to struggle to make all those folds, and was never happy with the results when I did. Now, I fold away with the help of the Scoring Wheel. And materials like wood and fabric have become staples in my projects because the Cricut Maker makes them so easy with the Knife Blade and Rotary Blade. In short…in a way, after crafting my whole life, I feel like the Cricut Maker made me a Maker.

25th Anniversary Album
I love the look that comes from using wood in my craft projects, and with Cricut Maker’s Knife Blade, now I can do things like create these perfect wood anniversary album pages! Because of the adaptive tool system on the Maker, the Knife Blade has 6x the cutting power of the Deep Cut blade on the previous generation of Explore machines. So I can cut my own custom wooden tags, album pages and embellishments from basswood. (I may be gushing a bit, but this capability of the Cricut Maker just leaves me positively giddy, because I love it so much!)
Watercolor Leaf Card
I love using watercolors on my card projects! But until I got the Cricut Double Scoring Wheel for my Cricut Maker machine, I never would have considered using watercolor paper as my card’s base because it was just too hard to get a nice fold in it. The Cricut Double Scoring Wheel makes even my favorite heavy watercolor paper fold like butter! With a watercolor paper card base, I can easily make this see-through watercolor leaf card. (For a fun variation, try making this project using a flower, heart or other shape.)
Back to School Teacher Gift Box
One of the most exciting applications of the Cricut Scoring Wheel for Cricut Maker is making 3D projects. This Schoolhouse Gift Box project solves the always-vexing question “what do I do for the teacher gift?” Add a spot of green to their classroom (and their wallet too, with the accompanying gift card holder). This gift project for teacher is so easy that the kids can help make it, and with the help of the Scoring Wheel it will go together perfectly even when little fingers assemble it!

Of course, even with all of its fancy tools, it should not be forgotten that the Cricut Maker is still a star at doing the basics like iron-on & vinyl too! A simple design jazzed up with patterned iron-on has made this Scrappy Mom t-shirt into one of my wardrobe favorites. I couldn’t stop at just five, because I just had to include my all-time favorite project I’ve made with my Cricut Maker! This J’adore Paris pillow project would not have been possible without the Cricut Maker’s Rotary Blade to cut the fabric and felt flowers. These flowers provide dimension and interest to the front of the pillow. I love this pillow so much that it now lives on a bench in my living room where everyone who enters my home can get to see it!
