Make a Happy Thanksgiving Card!

As promised, I’m back with another card using Honey Bee’s Harvest Festival paper pad! This time it’s a Thanksgiving card to send your warm wishes to any loved ones who cannot gather together at this special time.

Supplies

To start this card project, cut the following patterned paper pieces:

  • Wood pattern: 4.25” x 5.5”

  • Leaf pattern: 1.75” x 5.5”

  • Turquoise pattern: 2” x 4”

Adhere the wood patterned paper to the front of the card base.

To make the tag, punch a hole in the middle of one narrow end of the turquoise print. Snip the corners off of the end near the hole. Stamp the sentiment at an angle in Ground Espresso.

Make the hole reinforcer by punching with an office supply hole punch in the deep red patterned paper, and then punch around that with the 1/2” hole punch. Glue it down and then wrap twine through the hole.

Ink the edges of the leaf patterned piece with Antique Linen, and the turquoise tag with Iced Spruce. Adhere the tag to the card front, and then layer the leaf pattern on top of it.

To create a ribbon knot like this, I take my length of ribbon and tie the two ends together. Then when I have a knot that I like, I snip it free from the rest of the ribbon. So I have a piece of ribbon with a knot in the middle! I use adhesive lines to attach it in place, and then tuck the ends around the back and secure them as well.

For a finishing touch, I glued down a few pretty sequins, beads and buttons from a 28 Lilac Lane embellishment box designed by May Flaum. It fills up the empty space and adds some dimension and shine.

If you love this Honey Bee paper pad as much as I do, don’t miss my Halloween card made with it!
