Fast Fun with Heidi Swapp Art Walk!
There are few products that I know I will buy as soon as I see the preview. These Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection papers were definitely one of them! I immediately loved the mixed media feel of the backgrounds and mix of bold colors like the fuschia with the softer shades of blue, aqua and pink.

What better way to use these brilliant and hip papers than on a layout about my daughter?
This fun layout takes only a few minutes and definitely captures my daughter’s sweetness and free spirit!

I took a few new Ranger products out for a test drive on this project! The stamped sentiment card below uses their new “Blush Pearl” embossing powder. It is the perfect shade of pink and I love using a pearl finish on things for just a hint of glitz without overdoing it! And the paint smear is the new Tim Holtz Distress Speckled Egg color. I don’t feel the need to buy the paint of every Distress color but for some reason I threw this one in the cart when I was ordering my new color items. And here I am using it already!
The block with the paint smear above the photo with my daughter looking at herself on the iPhone was a “happy accident”. I wanted to take a look at the paint color and practice my paint smearing technique on some scrap cardstock before doing it on the stamped block. I liked the results of my “practice” so much I decided to use it!
A lot of people are afraid to handwrite their journaling because they think it will be messy or they will get to the end and it won’t fit. I solve that by practicing my text first before writing on my final piece for the layout! It’s super simple to do. I figure out how many lines I have room for (here the dots served as “lines”) and then measure their width. I grab a notepad and measure off the width I can use, and then mark off how many lines I have. Then I pre-write out my journaling to make sure it fits how I want! It’s an extra step but it helps make everything just right.
For my title, I used the bright fuschia color that is the back side of the pale pink dot I used for journaling. I cut out giant monogram “B” on my Cricut Joy machine. This type of small quick cut is so easy to do on the Joy just by grabbing my phone and using the Cricut app! Of course, you could hand draw or use a stencil and hand cut to create the element…but my Joy machine sure saved me a lot of time and hand cramps!
I love these pictures of my daughter and I’m so happy to have them scrapbooked now! What are you inspired to make by these new colors, papers and tools?
