Make a Quick Collage Halloween Card with Tim Holtz!
The time for ghosts, goblins, and other spooky stuff is upon us! Today for World Card Making Day, I'm sharing a quick collage Halloween card that can be made with just bits and pieces of your Halloween stash from previous years!

Collage Halloween Card with Tim Holtz idea-ology
Supplies Needed:
Tim Holtz Idea-ology "Materialize" 8x8 paper pad (This is no longer available, so can substitute other Tim Holtz or Halloween papers)
Tim Holtz idea-ology Halloween Ephemera Pack (Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp, Amazon)
black button
black embroidery floss
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Black Soot (Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp, Amazon)
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Frayed Burlap (Scrapbook.com, Simon Says Stamp, Amazon)
white liquid adhesive (I use PPA Matte)
If you don't have the specific pieces listed above, please dig in your stash! The magic of collage style is that the randomness of the effect means you can follow the general concept while using what you have on hand. Swap a stamp for a rub-on, or patterned paper bits for ephemera...use your imagination!
Halloween Card 01
I started this card, like most I make, by creating a background layer. For this one I used two neutral-colored patterns, and divided them with a strip of the stripe to separate them visually. I cut the striped strip longer than the background so that when I glued it down, I could slide it to adjust what color was along the edges.
Once it was designed, I set it aside without gluing it down!

Step two was a sentiment label. I trimmed a piece of text out of my Gothic remnant rubs sheet, and put it as near to the top edge of the label as I could. Then I tucked it behind the striped border on the right side. Before I glued everything down, I inked all of the edges of the pieces. (I used Black Soot for the black checked piece, and Frayed Burlap for all of the other pieces.)

Next I started playing with some elements for the top layer: ephemera, a scrap cut from a sheet of the paper pad, and a button. I just shuffled things around until I had a group that I liked.

Then it was time to add a few details. I went back to the Gothic remnant rubs sheet. The labels were easy to fill with text. But then I decided to also add a teeny spider detail in the corner of the little paper block for some extra spooky detail!

The final touch was to add the sequins and beads for a few highlights of sparkle! I dropped a few spots of white glue onto the card, and filled them with orange and black bling.
Once the glue was dry, I snipped the ends of my striped strip and attached my card front to a folded card.
Now, it's all ready to bring some boo-tiful greetings to someone this Halloween!
