Take a "Voyage Beneath the Sea" with Ariel at Disneyworld
When I saw the new "Voyage Beneath the Sea" collection by Graphic 45, I knew right away that I just had to make a Princess Ariel layout with it from one of our Disneyworld visits! All of its sea life and mermaid theming are just perfect for Ariel and her undersea world!

The design of this layout is pretty simple. The two bands of orange serve to frame and push the elements together visually. The blue elements (and the orange elements somewhat) are arranged in a visual triangle.
The exterior photo from the grotto is black and white for a simple reason: exposure. The exposure was bad on this photo. Switching the photo to black & white allowed for creating a fix for the exposure without having to worry about the effects on the color. It also kept the layout from having too much color in it that would make it visually confusing, so I ended up liking the result.
The edges of the orange elements are all edged in brown ink, to make them stand out a bit better against the yellow background. This turquoise element (cut from an 8x8 sheet of paper) is also edged, in a dark teal ink, to provide its edge some shadow.
I deliberately chose brown twine to tie through the tag because it is reminiscent of fishing nets.
On this journal box (also cut from an 8x8 paper pad sheet), I added a few embellishments to provide some shine and highlight it.
I also included embellishments on the title chipboard and the border (cut from a 12x12 sheet). It only seems right to have some sparkle on the layout to match the shine of Ariel's costume!
Look closely at how the border perfectly matches at the bottom of the photo, having whole gear emblems on each side. That was lucky, right?
Actually, it's careful piecing of the border under the photo! I cut the small piece for the right side, and then positioned and trimmed the 2nd piece for the left side.

This Graphic 45 collection would also be great for the 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea ride at Disneyland (now closed). I think I may try my pictures from that ride with the Voyage Under the Sea collection next!
