CHA Mega Show 2015 | Scrapbook Travel Products
With all of the travel that I've been doing lately, I have travel scrapbooking on the brain! I will need a steady supply of scrapbook travel products to scrap all of the pictures of the places I've been flying off to (and will be going to in the near future). Luckily for me, scrapbook manufacturers are back in the business of producing travel themed items again after taking a short break during the economic downturn. There were plenty of travel product options on show at the CHA Mega Show 2015!
Templates have become go-to products for many scrapbookers with the rise of mixed media, and The Crafter's Workshop has several new templates that are especially handy for pocket scrapbookers. Good Eats and Radar Fragment are perfect for making custom pocket cards!
For many people, travel means theme parks - specifically the Disney parks. Simple Stories is back with a sequel to their blockbuster "Say Cheese" collection, called "Say Cheese II". The new collection builds onto the old one, with all of the elements working together. A new collection of pocket cards is sure to be popular!
Camping, featuring retro trailer icons, was a trendy theme this year. Bella Blvd's interpretation of it in their signature color palette creates a collection that appears to be very 70's influenced.
Crate Paper also did an interpretation of the retro trailers for their travel themed line called Journey. Their color palette and designs appear to be more 1950's inspired, however.
Instead of campers, Pink Paislee took its vacation line to the skies with Atlas. The bright colorful collection is ultra modern and will be popular with pocket scrapbookers.
The gold foil world map transparency from the Atlas collection is sure to attract a lot of attention, as are the silver foil airplanes!
Teresa Collins also brought gold foil to her new travel collection, Wanderlust. Her black, white and gold mini collection is neutral enough to be mixed in with other travel products to add a bit of pop or drama.
If graphic is more your style than gold foil, Echo Park and Carta Bella have plenty of travel products to make their fans happy. Under the Echo Park Paper brand name, new collections of designer cards for pocketing scrapbooking called "Getaway" are available in a nice subdued color palette.
The retro camper makes an appearance as a die for Carta Bella. The company is also offering several other travel themed dies, stencils and stamps that cover every type of travel imaginable.
Carta Bella's new travel collection is called Travel Stories, and the bold color palette is attention-getting. The pocket card designs on one sheet are very creative and unique.
Stamps with matching die sets were everywhere on the show floor, and Technique Tuesday has a great stamp set for pocket scrapbookers to use for travel scrapbooking called Going Places. The matching die set is also called Going Places.
There was lots to love in Tim Holtz's CHA Mega Show 2015 announcements for travel scrapbookers. First up, was the repackaging of his mini blueprint stamps from 12 stamp packs into 4 stamp theme pack. This will make it much more affordable for consumers to buy just the theme that they need of the stamps, instead of possibly having to buy 8 they didn't need to get the set of four that they did.
There was also plenty of new stamp designs that will make travel fans very happy.
For Tim's mixed media fans (of which there are many), there are new stencils that will work great for travel scrapbooking of all kinds. There's also an entire new idea-ology collection devoted to airmail themes called Passport that has great pieces in it for travel usage, like map washi tape .
What travel scrapbooking are you working on (or anticipating doing in the near future?) What products are you looking forward to seeing hit store shelves?
