Kelly Purkey Gets Hero Arts Signature Line
Hero Arts and Kelly Purkey have announced that they are partnering to create a signature line of Kelly Purkey-designed stamps and other products.
Kelly Purkey has long been a prominent blogger in the industry, and in recent years she has moved into product design. After successfully designing stamps for sale through her own website, she began designing stamps (as well as other products) for online retailer Simon Says Stamp's in-house line.
Basic Grey debuted Kelly's first wholesale signature product line at the CHA Mega Show in 2014, a collection called Mon Ami. The follow-up collection, Second City, was a summer 2014 release for Basic Grey. Kelly's creative projects are known for a youthful, graphic, and clean style, with an emphasis on travel and "girl about town" themes, and her product lines to date have reflected that aesthetic as well.
Through her collaboration with Basic Grey, Kelly has actually already been designing signature Hero Arts co-branded stamps, but those stamps were limited in style to coordinates of her Basic Grey collections. The new signature line from Hero Arts, called Clearly Kelly, will debut at the Craft & Hobby Association trade show in Anaheim next month, and will give her freedom to design a wide range of themes for the company. The Clearly Kelly line will include stamps, stencils, and "other fun things," according to Kelly in the announcement, and are designed primarily for scrapbooking (with an emphasis on pocket scrapbooking). The sneak peeks so far include multiple 3x4 clear stamp sets (including an outline block alphabet), along with a wood mounted set. The addition of Clearly Kelly will give Hero Arts, which has focused heavily on cardmaking, a strong brand presence in the pocket scrapbooking market and an infusion of graphic style to its more traditional design catalog.
