It's time for another anniversary giveaway for my readers!

This time the giveaway is a set of Spellbinders Nestabilities, the small Classic Squares set that cuts and embosses.
You might be thinking, "why would I want a square die cutting set when I can cut squares with my paper trimmer?" There's a couple of reasons that die cutting squares has advantages. For one, it's easier to get squares that are absolutely perfect and all exactly the same size - especially important if you are using them in a grid design together. Another advantage is that it is easier to place (or even center) a design in the middle of the square when you can place the die and then cut.
All of that is great, but the embossing feature alone makes this die set worth it if you are a card maker. That feature can take a simple blank cardstock panel from bland to elegant, like I did on the card below.
That white background was the perfect canvas for stamping my colorful bird on, but a plain white square would have looked unfinished placed onto my card front, like it was lacking something. Add in the embossed edge of the Nestabilities die, and the extra dimension gives the panel a finished look that takes the whole card from simple to stepped up.
Supplies:
Spellbinders Nestabilities (Classic Squares Small)
Hero Arts stamps (Newsprint Bird, Holiday Sayings)
Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Markers (Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo, Pine Needles)
American Crafts Stamp Markers (Cranberry)
Studio Calico Classic Calico patterned paper (Wag Pattern)
Bazzill Cardstock (white smooth)
You might notice, reading that supply list, that the two patterned papers are the "A" and "B" sides of the same sheet. That's not only cheap - it's also a convenient way to find papers that will definitely coordinate!
I love this bird stamp and colored with the markers in these colors, it makes for a very sophisticated holiday card. There are touches of green and cranberry on this card, and a tiny sprig of holly, but this card is styled for those who are sick of the traditional red and green explosion at Christmas. It would be great for a business greeting, sending to a man, or a subdued greeting to someone dealing with a difficult time at the holidays.
But now, it's the part you've all been waiting for...the giveaway! One lucky reader is going to win a set of Spellbinders Nestabilities "Classic Squares Small" - a true classic! As an extra thank you to our worldwide audience, we're opening this giveaway to overseas residents.
