The Ali Edwards line was the first signature line developed by Technique Tuesday, and it has been a favorite of scrapbookers since its introduction in January 2009. It was later expanded into a monthly auto-ship stamp club called Studio AE in addition to the line's regular product releases.
Ali Edwards wrote the column "Studio A" from 2006-2009 for Creating Keepsakes magazine, and also authored four books for the company: A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking, A Designer’s Eye for Scrapbooking with Patterned Paper, Life Artist, and Sharing Your Story: Recording Life’s Details with Mini Books. Her loopy cursive handwriting is immediately recognizable to most scrapbookers, and features heavily in her stamp and digital product designs. (Pictured below is the final Studio AE stamp club set, Pure Magic.)
In an exclusive statement to Scrapbook Update, Ali provided hints of what is next for the Ali Edwards brand:
I think this is a positive move for both brands. I'm personally very excited about new opportunities for the evolution of the Ali Edwards brand within the memory keeping industry. The first phase will be unveiled in the coming months via aliedwards.com. My focus continues to be on helping others tell the important stories of their lives via words and photos and products that support those endeavors.
Technique Tuesday CEO Bev Gray says it was time for the company and Edwards to move in separate directions:
During the last 6 years of collaborating with Ali, we have designed and manufactured many stamp sets and journaling products based on Ali’s digital artwork. With so many wonderful designs already in the hands of papercrafters, both Ali and I agree that it is time to change things up and move in separate directions. Although Technique Tuesday will not be releasing new products with Ali, I value the relationship we’ve built with Ali and wish her the best in her new endeavors. I am so excited about the new Memory Keepers Studio and Fresh Cut Studio programs. I am also looking forward to sharing our summer product release with you in late July!
Ali's stamp designs from Technique Tuesday are currently available at Scrapbook.com, A Cherry on Top, Simon Says Stamp, and the Technique Tuesday website, among other locations. Get them while they last as it appears they will only be available until existing inventory is sold through.
Following Ali's departure, Technique Tuesday is revamping some of their offerings. The Studio AE auto-ship program is obviously going away, and is being replaced by a monthly auto-ship program called Memory Keepers Studio. Stamps for the new program will be designed by a variety of designers, and the first three months of the stamps are available for viewing now on the Technique Tuesday website. Signing up for the auto-ship version of the program will get customers the stamp set for 25% off, as well as discounts on other "select products" each month.
Technique Tuesday is also introducing a new auto-ship program for die cut fans. Fresh Cut Studio will feature a new die set that coordinates with the Memory Keepers Studio stamp set. Signing up for auto-ship on the die program also gets customers that product for 25% off, as well as discount on other coordinating products.
Like with the Studio AE program previously, the new Memory Keepers Studio and Fresh Cut Studio product lines will be available through retailers at full price.
