CHA Summer 2013 | Hot Pick: Lawn Fawn

Welcome to the CHA Top Ten Hot Picks list!

So here, in no particular order, is the next hot pick for CHA Summer 2013 (aka Create-n-Connect)…

One of the things I look for when I look for CHA Hot Picks is companies that are on an upward trajectory in growth and popularity. Lawn Fawn, at a little over 3 years old, is definitely on a skyward trajectory of both.

Owner/designer Kelly Marie Alvarez has expanded the company's offerings step by step in the past few years, first expanding into paper in 2012 and then into dies in 2013. The results of that expansion were on display at Create-n-Connect, with Lawn Fawn really showing as a fully mature company. Their summer release is way too big to show completely here, so let's hit the high points!

Of course, the company had an expansion to offer of their signature animal designs:

Alphabets are a necessity for any company, and Lawn Fawn has expanded their offerings in a major way. There's two new stamped alphabets and a new die cut alphabet.

Quinn's Capital ABCs was actually a very recent mid-release, and matches a previously released lower case set.

Milo's ABCs is an all-caps skinny handwritten alphabet that, like all the Lawn Fawn alphabets, is on rectangular blocks for easy creation of straight letter placement.

Cole's ABCs is a die alphabet in a perfect size for both cards and layouts. Project Lifers will love this one!

Christmas is a huge market for stampers, and Lawn Fawn has perhaps the most unique Christmas set I've seen in a long time. We're used to seeing snowflakes, trees, snowmen, and penguins - but what about a yeti? Well, Lawn Fawn has one!

Among the company's other holiday highlights are the matching set of stamps and dies for making gift tags:

Lawn Fawn also has some dies that are available without stamps, and stitching lines seems to be a common theme with these. We're used to seeing stamps for leaf designs that have matching dies to cut them out, but Lawn Fawn's "stitched leaves" die set creates a fully styled leaf without the use of a stamp, by cutting stitched lines for the veins.

Another die is sure to be popular with the Project Life and pocket scrapbooking crowd...it's a 3x4 card die, that has a stitched edge border and inserts that can be laid into it to create strips of hearts, chevrons, and other shapes.

Lawn Fawn also had two new paper collections to offer - a fall collection and a Christmas collection. The company's paper design process is developing nicely, with these collections being definitely the most usable and versatile designs they've produced so far.

There's also some great holiday twine, and sequins for making shaker boxes and other fun stuff:
