The Results Are In - What Is The Buzz?
It's time for THE BUZZ! The hundreds of votes from the CHA Create-n-Connect Buzz survey have been tallied, and now it's time to share the results! Here's the three new products from the CHA Create-n-Connect show in Las Vegas that are getting the most pre-show buzz among Scrapbook Update's readers!
So, in no particular order, here's THE BUZZ!
Cut & Paste by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts
Judging from the buzz, Amy Tan has not worn out her welcome yet with her Amy Tangerine line for American Crafts! She has a consistent (and unique) signature style, and her collections are very compatible with each other from one release to the next, making her very appealing to paper crafts consumers.
Her CHA Create-n-Connect Summer 2013 release is perhaps her strongest yet. It continues her signature color palette of distressed cream, woodgrain, green, pink, grey, yellow and blue. Some familiar icons are present as well - arrows, hearts, cameras and speech bubbles, to name a few. The collection stands on its own and yet still feels fresh.
Chalk Studio by Rhonna Farrer for My Mind's Eye
The chalkboard look is hot for this show, and there are plenty of examples to be seen of collections highlighting the design effect. But the one getting all the buzz is this collection by Rhonna Farrer for My Mind's Eye that took the chalkboard look to a new extreme, with almost all of the elements being chalk designs! The paper fronts and virtually all of the embellishments are chalkboard designs.
But while the front is all chalk, the backs are soft "chalky" pastels, that coordinate beautifully and break up the harshness of the black and white:
A good Disney themed collection is always a winner in the scrapbook market, and this collection really hits the mark! It's got all the right notes for a Disney theme - a red, black, and yellow color scheme; polka dots; stars; and it has elements that will make both pocket and traditional scrapbookers happy.
After all the attempts that have been made at creating Disney scrapbook kits, it's hard to make it look fresh and Simple Stories has certainly done it with this collection!
