When I was looking through Pinterest earlier this week, I flipped past this photo two or three times. I don't typically use candles much once the warmer weather hits and it just wasn't what I was looking for. But I did like the arrangement of the photo and finally decided that, although it might not be something I would typically use for scrapbooking inspiration, maybe I should try it. So come take a look and see what you think.

The candle is an Orange Blossom candle and you can find it at Prize Candle - a company that specializes in soy candles that contain a prize inside the candle. What I liked about this photo was the way the orange, the greenery, and the blossoms all surrounded the candle on a circular holder. The small details just seemed to envelope the focal point and, even though the oranges are much brighter in color than the candle, the placement of them still allows the candle to hold center stage.

And it just so happens that I had a couple of photos that really called for something circular! So I decided to put that inspiration to play in a layout with those photos.

I started this layout with just the framed photos in the middle of a piece of white cardstock to mimic the candle placement in the inspiration photo. At first I had both photos side-by-side, and then realized that I could use one more as an embellishment if I resized it and put it beside the photo - very similar to the placement of the orange blossoms by the candle. This is the beauty of digital! All I had to do is click on the photo to resize it.

After figuring out the photo placement, I started playing with strips of patterned paper, the arrow and the journaling tag along the bottom and sides of the photo - just like the oranges and the blossoms. And then I added the circular stitching to create the circular feel that I liked in the inspiration photo but also because photos of windmills just seemed to call for circles! At the very end, I added a piece of patterned paper behind the white cardstock just to ground the entire design.
