American Crafts announced today that it is partnering with Becky Higgins to manufacture, sell and distribute her overwhelmingly popular Project Life product line to retailers.

Project Life had previously only been available through online retailer Amazon.com in the U.S., and through various exclusive online retail outlets overseas.

Becky launched Project Life through her company Becky Higgins LLC in late 2009. Its popularity has been overwhelming, and has inspired many similar lines from other industry manufacturers. The product line's offerings have grown steadily with the addition of new core kits and accessories over its first 3 years. In August, Becky announced new additions to Project Life that when released in December will grow the product line to 10 core kits and 3 mini kits. The new offerings also included the product line's first foray into themed kits, with school and baby kits being announced.

In addition to the papercrafting supplies currently sold through Amazon.com, the Project Life brand also extends to several other product areas. There is a digital version of Project Life sold at JessicaSprague.com, and an online community at Big Picture Classes of "Project Lifers". Becky is also currently teaching a 3 month workshop on Project Life for Big Picture Classes called "Project Real Life" (unfortunately the registration deadline has passed for that).

Under the new arrangement with American Crafts, Becky Higgins will continue to be guide the development and design of Project Life, and will continue to have her own independent website and blog. American Crafts will produce, sell and distribute the product line to retailers.

Becky Higgins will be introducing new Project Life products in her booth (#2628) at the Craft & Hobby Association Winter 2013 Conference and Trade Show in Anaheim, CA in January 2013. Products will be targeted for April 2013 shipping dates to retailers.

Retailers who wish to placed on a priority pre-order list can do that by contacting their American Crafts sales representative at (800) 879-5185. Or retailers can fill out a short web form and be added to the same list.

In the announcement, Becky expressed her continuing commitment to Project Life, and excitement about her new partnership with American Crafts:

I’m incredibly passionate about people turning their everyday stories into something tangible they can enjoy and share with others. I developed Project Life out of my own desire to take the fuss out of scrapbooking. I see how it’s such a blessing to so many people, and have had a deep desire to get this life-changing concept in the hands of even more people. I’m confident American Crafts will do an amazing job of getting Project Life into places where more scrapbookers can see and touch and even experience the products.

American Crafts president Jeff Mitchell recognizes his company is taking on an industry-changing product in Project Life:

Becky has created something really unique that helps people capture their memories in an efficient and attractive way. Project Life is the answer a lot of people have been looking for when it comes to recording their memories, and we’re excited that American Crafts can play a role in that solution.

Project Life has already changed the landscape of the scrapbook industry with just Becky's name and the retail power of Amazon.com behind it. With the addition of American Crafts to back it, Project Life may well be an unstoppable force for the foreseeable future in the memory keeping industry.
