Pinterest Inspiration | Patchwork
I have been pinning inspirational photos and websites on Pinterest almost since its inception and pinning just never gets old. This week, I fell in love with this gorgeous patchwork quilt.
This quilt is from Pottery Barn, and the red florals and stripes are beautifully vibrant. Patchwork patterns have such a comforting, homey feel to them but these modern and bright fabrics provide a great update on the traditional patchwork quilt. I love the mix of patterns, hues and colors. Perfect inspiration for a layout, right?

As I started this layout, I quickly realized that I preferred a monochromatic patchwork pattern. My layout needed to showcase multiple photos and too many varied background colors and patterns made the layout feel too busy. So, I put together a background of 5 similarly-colored patterned papers - I repeated a few for continuity - each sized to 3 inch squares. On top of that patchwork, I layered white cardstock to ground the framed photos. To bring in some of the vibrancy of the inspiration photo, I added some bright ripped paper and blue accents, including staples, circles, a ribbon and flowers. To finish it, I added a title above and journaling below the photos.
I would love to recreate this layout with different colors and papers and maybe black-and-white photos. The possibilities are endless with this design.
