The first Friday in October brings with it a cold change in weather here in my neck of the woods, but this first week of October has also brought some new happenings and exciting news in the scrapbooking world too. Here are this week's noteworthy stories:

Leading off this week is Bella Blvd, who announced their first ever batch of mid-releases. A "winter wonder" line, some "miniature stickers", and a "spring flings and Easter things" line.

These are *limited edition* mini collections, which means that once they are out of stock they are gone and will NOT be reprinted. You will want to get your hands on these, before they sell out. Call your local scrapbook stores and remind them to get their orders in, starting today. Products will start shipping out on October 24th, in just three weeks!

The release of a spring/easter line in mid-fall was surprising to me, but these days there no longer seems to be specific timelines for releasing seasonal product. Whatever the company's reasons, the products are all bright and fun, and the classic look Bella Blvd is known for.

Speaking of exciting company news, earlier this week it was announced that Studio Calico products will now be produced and distributed by American Crafts. I am a long time fan of both companies (and both companies were among my top picks of companies getting things right in my customer loyalty article!) I am excited by this news and I hope it means good things for all involved. For a full report on this news, be sure to read Nancy's article here at Scrapbook Update.

Digital scrapbookers may be interested in this news especially. Adobe has been busy this week - Photoshop Elements 10 was announced, as well as six new tablet apps including Photoshop Touch.

Adobe has announced a new cloud service called, appropriately enough, Adobe Creative Cloud. The service intends to streamline sharing projects generated in Adobe's apps and creative suites. The big takeaway for iOS users is that Adobe has announced six new tablet apps, including Photoshop Touch

www.mycraftchannel.com launched this week. The new site with their 'internet TV' crafting shows now airing and their home page has been featuring "deal of the day" crafting supplies for sale.

While the website seems to still be in its early stages, it appears the site will offer twelve different craft related shows with regularly apearing hosts like Stacy Julian, Teresa Collins, and Heidi Swapp. This week several of the shows' pilot episodes were added to the site each day (Monday through Friday), and I am assuming each week we can expect the same. The episodes ranged in length from about seven to fifteen minutes, and the sound and video quality were excellent though I had issues with rewind/fast forward options and could not view episodes full screen on my computer.

I am not a sci-fi kind of girl, but I know many who are and this Star Trek book by Julie Gillrie is so amazingly detailed and crafted - it's inspiring! With so much detail and hand crafting, this felt mini book is incredible. If you're looking for a homemade book idea, ideas for felt, or just inspiration to hand-craft something this upcoming holiday season check it out. Incredible! Julie also has a PDF instruction and pattern file for sale in her etsy shop for this book, as well as a lot of images posted on her blog of her Star Wars book.

This must just be the week for me finding new-to-me talented ladies named Julie! I can thank Twitter for this find. Artist Julie Kirk shares a lot of  art journal and creative process posts on her blog. She recently posted an interesting piece on her process start to finish on an art journaling page in a notebook, sharing her process and some tips as well.
