Three Ways To Get Into Fall [Giveaway]
Fall is my favorite season. As the candy corn starts showing up in stores and I find myself wanting hot tea in the evenings, I'm preparing to see what changes it will bring to my scrapbooking habits. Already I have spotted three ways I want to kick things off, and today I will share them with you.
#1: Stitching
Whether by machine or hand - adding stitching to a page gives it a homemade look and feel that is downright cozy as far as I'm concerned.
As the weather cools I find myself drawn not only to sewing projects with fabric, but also adding more stitching into my scrapbook layouts. Above is an image of some embroidery thread stitching done by hand. Need help getting stitches sized just right? Grab a Tim Holtz design ruler - there are holes in it you can use to pre-punch your paper for just that use (or many others).
#2: Add leaves
While I don't live in a place where falling leaves are a sign of fall, I do love both the look and feel of leaf products on fall pages.
Supplies Used:
Bella Blvd "One Fall Day" collection leaf paper
stickers
alphabet stickers
blocks & borders paper
cute cuts paper
Tim Holtz distress ink in brushed corduroy
Tim Holtz distress stickles in spiced marmalade
Tim Holtz distress stickles in forest moss
other: pen, grey thread, cream cardstock
I really like how the Bella Blvd collection could be used for anything from a random fall moment to the pumpkin patch and everything in between. It's refreshing to see such a playful collection with so much color for fall.
More leaf suggestions:
EK Success leaf border punch
Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz collection leaf stamps
Prima Mulberry leaves
#3: Hay
Last but not least, is my color pick. Golden brown, hay, straw, amber, whatever shade it is...this is the general color I see myself reaching for to accent my pages. This is not a zone on the color wheel I usually tend to lean towards, so I'm interested to see how it works out for me!
