Big Picture Scrapbooking Changes Name

Big Picture Scrapbooking announced this week that it is changing its name to Big Picture Classes.

The name change is part of the company's ongoing expansion of its education mission, from focusing on strictly scrapbooking to encompassing topics both related to scrapbooking and beyond it.

Big Picture's recent class offerings include education in the areas of journaling and photography in addition to more traditional scrapbook education. Recent examples of the new style of classes include Fun with Fabric, taught by mixed media artist Donna Downey, and Picture Fall, taught by Shutter Sisters founder Tracey Clark.

Founder Stacy Julian explained the expanding mission of Big Picture:

Storytelling and helping people value and preserve their personal experiences has always been at the heart of who we are and what we do. With the launch of the new name and website, we hope our site now better reflects our efforts to include anyone who has the desire to document stories and explore creativity.

Big Picture boasts a subscriber base of 45,000 members. The company offers self-paced classes and multi-week workshops from instructors such as May Flaum, Nic Howard, Jen Mohler, Georgana Hall, and many other instructors.

[Disclosure: Big Picture Classes is a sponsor of the Paperclipping Roundtable podcast that is co-hosted by Scrapbook Update Editor Nancy Nally.]
