Jennafer Martin named Editor-in-Chief of Creating Keepsakes
Jennafer Martin, the former editor-in-chief of Digital Scrapbooking and Simple Scrapbooks magazines, has been named editor-in-chief of Creating Keepsakes magazine. Former editor Brian Tippetts was let go in the round of layoffs that occurred the day the sale of CK Media to New Track Media was finalized.
Martin has been with the company since 2001. She first was the managing editor of Crafts, and worked on its transformation into PaperCrafts magazine. Then this year, after the closure of Digital Scrapbooking and Simple Scrapbooks by the company, Martin was given charge of the company's Special Issue and New Media divisions.
Brittany Beattie will continue as Managing Editor of Creating Keepsakes under Martin.
Martin had this to say to Scrapbook Update about the future for Creating Keepsakes under her leadership:
I'm very excited about the opportunity to take the helm of this leading scrapbook publication and to work with its passionate, talented staff, contributors and readers. I know how difficult the last couple of years have been for the economy, publishing and the scrapbook industry, but I also know that despite those difficulties, the importance of telling our stories has not diminished and interest in scrapbooking continues to be strong. I look forward to continuing the CK's mission to help readers bring memories to life in fun, creative ways, especially under our new parent company, New Track Media whose focus on strong brands focused on the customer has already providing strong synergies and is sure to provide strong possibilities as well.
